Enhancing Holistic and Complementary Care through Evidence-Based Practice for Global Health
Global health challenges are becoming increasingly complex due to the rising prevalence of chronic diseases, mental health disorders, aging populations, infectious disease outbreaks, and health inequities across countries. These conditions require healthcare systems to move beyond curative approaches and adopt more holistic, patient-centered, and culturally sensitive care models. Holistic and complementary care has emerged as an important strategy to improve quality of life, patient satisfaction, and overall health outcomes.
Holistic care emphasizes the integration of physical, psychological, social, cultural, and spiritual dimensions in healthcare services. Meanwhile, complementary care practices—including mindfulness therapy, traditional medicine, therapeutic communication, music therapy, relaxation techniques, and family-centered interventions—have gained recognition as supportive approaches that can enhance recovery and well-being when implemented appropriately.
However, the integration of holistic and complementary care into healthcare services must be supported by strong scientific evidence to ensure safety, effectiveness, and sustainability. Evidence-Based Practice (EBP) plays a crucial role in bridging research findings with clinical practice, enabling healthcare professionals to deliver interventions that are both innovative and scientifically validated.
In the era of globalization and rapid technological advancement, collaboration among researchers, healthcare practitioners, educators, policymakers, and students is essential to strengthen evidence-based holistic healthcare practices worldwide. International scientific forums provide valuable opportunities for knowledge exchange, interdisciplinary collaboration, and dissemination of innovative research findings that can contribute to improving global health outcomes.
Therefore, the 4 th International Conference on Health Sciences (ICHS) is organized with the theme “Enhancing Holistic and Complementary Care Through Evidence-Based Practice for Global Health” to facilitate academic discussion, research dissemination, and international collaboration in advancing holistic healthcare approaches supported by evidence-based practice.
Purpose
The purpose of the conference is to facilitate international collaboration and scientific knowledge exchange in advancing holistic and complementary healthcare practices through evidence-based approaches to improve global health outcomes.
